Mentorship is a gift, and it is an integral part of a young girl's life. I would like to create an opportunity for teenage girls to give their younger sister, cousin, etc. the gift of being a role model by hosting "My Mentor, My Dolly, and Me...For Christmas Tea!" Teenage girls from an underprivileged community will be able to take pride in showing the little girls who look up to them how to appreciate their individual beauty and represent themselves properly. And because it is a time of the year when so many little girls don't always experience the simple joy that many others may take for granted, each little girl will receive her own doll to love and "mentor" every day.
Lindsy Wilson
Math 8 Teacher
Our school is located in downtown Houston. Ninety-three percent of the population we serve qualifies for free and/or reduced lunch, and the neighborhood we are located in has only 3.5% of adults over the age of 25 who have any kind of education beyond high school. Our school is dedicated to sending all of our students to college and proves it by considering college admission as a requirement of high school graduation. Our students redefine possible for themselves and their community every day.
Elle Craves
Literacy Specialist
Hello Friends! My name is Elston Craver and I have been working with the YES Prep School system for two years. We work to make sure every student is college ready - this doesn't just mean academics (although we are rigorous!). We have service days, where the student's engage in the community and create opportunities for growth. We provide the most popular after school activities in our district. We work incredibly hard to make sure our students are well rounded and aware of there options as possible.
Estefania Silveri
Teacher
Hola! My name is Estefania Silveri, and I am a first year teacher at Yes Prep Fifth Ward in Houston, TX. I have the pleasure of teaching Spanish 3 and AP Spanish. My situation is very unique in that all of my students are native Spanish speakers, however they have never used the language to read or write in an academic setting. We have so much fun every day bringing my students' home culture into school every day.
Jason Jennings

I'm a third year teacher at a charter school and I also create our district's World Geography curriculum.
