With these funds I will be purchasing prizes for students who complete our Khan Academy Summer Challenge! Prizes will include a pizza party, ice cream bar, and items for raffle, including: movie tickets, gift cards, and a grand prize of AirPods. SAT scores are the biggest factor that hold our students back from being accepted to the college of their choice. My students cannot afford expensive test prep or private tutors, so we have started to think "outside the box" for ways to motivate students to practice for the SAT over the summer. This summer, high school students can elect to participate in free Khan Academy practice, which is associated with our school. We will be able to track the number of hours they complete, and students will win prizes or raffle tickets, based on how many hours they practice over the summer. We are hoping to keep students engaged in their studies over the summer, while also improving their SAT college-readiness.
