The Description
Our school grows in a unique way. For the last five years we have been adding a new 6th grade class so that the school will eventually grow out to a 6th grade - 12th grade building. This year we opened grades 6th - 10th and our library does not reflect the needs of our students. We currently have 14 cases with fiction books and 4 cases with non-fiction. The cases that we do have are over flowing and we need more space. Our library was started with excess books from several different sources including the city's public libraries and the others in our district as well. This means that we have only the books that we could get our hands on at the time. We have very little currently popular YA books and an abundance of books that are very low level for our high school students. With these funds I will be able to build our library by adding current, popular books to our shelves for all levels of readers. Our students deserve a library that has the books they want to read. I am aiming to make the library a place where students are comfortable coming and spending their time while making sure that they know what the library has to offer them and how to get the things they want. I will use the money to make sure we have shelving and storage for the books in question as well as purchasing any books that the students request in the first few months of school. I plan to use $750 to purchase more book cases and the other $1,250 would go towards books to stock the shelves!
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will purchase as much as I can (books and shelves) with whatever I am given!!

Funds received!!

Thanks so much to all of my investors! We have received the check and I am taking recommendations from all of my high schoolers for some books that they would like to have in the library. At this time, I'm still collecting their suggestions, but I hope to have several recent and relevant titles in the library for my students to enjoy. Thanks so much, again!!
