About
One of Philadelphia’s more successful charter schools, Independence Charter School, will be opening a new elementary school (ICS West) in Southwest Philadelphia in September 2016. The school will be primarily serving families in Southwest and West Philadelphia, as well as Overbrook.
As a public school, ICS-West is open to all residents of Philadelphia, with priority going to students from the Bartram, Overbrook, and Sayre high school catchments. If you’re unsure of your neighborhood high school, check here Philly School Finder.
Students are admitted through a lottery system that takes place in the winter each year. ICSW does not charge tuition or any application fee.
