During the school year, I'll be working as a 2nd-grade teacher at Acero Cruz in Rogers Park. This opportunity hits home for me. I grew up in the neighborhood, within walking distance of the school. As a member of the community, I'm so excited to be able to work with my community on issues of educational equity and work collaboratively to provide my students with a high-quality education.

Hi all, my name is Julia, I'm a recent college graduate, and starting this fall I will be teaching high school Special Education English! A little bit more about me, I'm from Pilsen, a neighborhood on Chicago's near Southwest side, and attended college at Columbia University in New York, where I studied English and Ethnicity and Race Studies on a Pre-law track. However, my passion for my community and education brought me back to Chicago where I will be teaching at Al Raby High School for Community and Environment. I am incredibly happy with the school and want to maintain their standard of excellence in my own classroom. Every dollar donated will be used to buy materials for the students to use, resources to make the space as welcoming and accommodating as possible, and the other small teacher needs that are hard to anticipate.
