About
Scharbauer Elementary opened in 1985 and is named after Ruth Cowden Scharbauer. The Cowdens and the Scharbauers were pioneer families here in Midland. Scharbauer Elementary is located in northwest Midland in the Grassland Subdivision. Our school mascot is the Wrangler.
Scharbauer houses Pre-K through 6th grade students. The school serves children in the general education setting and also in the areas of gifted/talented, dyslexia, speech, and special education. Students in the 6th grade have the opportunity to participate in the strings program.
Each Scharbauer student will have every opportunity to learn through a constant supportive framework of community, parents, teachers, and staff working together to develop the whole child.
