About

We are a school based out of Lynn, MA that focuses on academics, building character, giving back to the community and sending students to colleges and pathways that best meet their needs. As the second school in the KIPP:MA region, and one of 22 high schools in the KIPP national network, KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate High School (KALC) opened in 2011 with a class of 96 9th graders. This school year, that founding class becomes our first class of high school seniors to graduate from a KIPP high school in Massachusetts – and the first group of students to have benefited from a 5-12 KIPP education. The class is projected to achieve the strongest college outcomes and graduate at 6X the average of their peers attending district schools. Today KALC is fully enrolled in grades 9-12 serving 394 students and their families. As part of the larger KIPP:MA network, KALC is rooted in the core KIPP values of rigorous academic preparation and relentless character development, while maintaining focus on achieving success to and through college and to leading a life of choice and independence.

Maddison Holmes

10th Grade Leader/SPED Teacher

My name is Maddison Holmes, and I am a Special Education teacher for the 10th grade at KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate High School. These students are especially dear to me, given that I was born and raised in Lynn and know many of their families and older siblings. We do have resources at our school, but not all of them can be individualized or differentiated to meet my students' individual needs on their IEPs. Overall, I am looking to branch out and find some resources that can meet an array of student profiles.
