1st Grade Teacher

First grade rocks! I am a mom of 4 boys and a first grade teacher. The students and families that I work with are kind, hard working, and loving. Even though I found my passion later than many, it is the best career anyone could ask for. I believe a growth mindset is one of the most powerful tools in the classroom. I teach that mistakes make your brain stronger and you may not be able to do it now, but you will with perseverance. That's the power of yet! "The Power of Yet" is how I fund projects for my classroom. I may not have the books, supplies, etc. yet, but I will with hard work and perseverance.

Our classroom is a busy place with sweet, creative, and eager to learn 5 and 6 year old students. Students love to spend their time building, creating and making all kinds of projects from Lego villages and paper snowmen, to play dough pizza and friendship pictures. When you enter our classroom you will instantly feel loved and befriended by all. We enjoy learning and science is one of our favorite subjects. From dissecting owls pellets with a tribal wildlife biologist to pretending we are nocturnal animals reading with flashlights in the dark, there is never a dull moment!
