With these funds I will buy 35 copies (a class set) of "Forged by Fire" by Sharon Draper. On the author's website, SharonDraper.com, the book is discounted at $7.99 per copy for paperbacks.
My students deserve this book because they THOROUGHLY enjoyed the last book in the series, "Darkness Before Dawn". This book sparked their curiosity in reading. They are interested in this book series, and my school currently only has the first and last book of the trilogy.
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal, I will purchase as many copies of the books as possible. My co-teacher and I will look to other ways to raise the rest of the funds. My principal will be much more likely to fund the remainder of the project if we have take the initiative to raise money to buy the books.
