With these funds I will purchase a total of 20 knitting looms for my middle school students. 

Genesis is a public charter school on the East side of Kansas City. This part of Kansas City is not only the most violent but it is also one of the poorest parts of Kansas City. My students often do not get the chance to experience skills like knitting, which to you and me seems like a simple craft, but to them it is completely foreign. Knitting helps develop their hand eye coordination as well as improving both fine and gross motor skills.

Each rectangle loom costs $17.99 each for a total of $179.90.
