The Description
Help me turn my kids into READERS! As we all know, learning only really take place in spaces where students feel comfortable, organized, and at home. In order to provide this kind of environment where every student has what they need and can engage with English without worrying about what they do or don't have, what is going on at home, etc. I need your help! I paid for all of the extra classroom supplies I needed last year out of my own pocket, and we did run out eventually in the middle of the year. Just pencils, paper, Germ-X, and Kleenex for one year alone can cost an arm and a leg - not including the supplies I'd love to have for more engaging projects and assignments (construction paper, post-its, poster paper, etc). Even just $5 is a solid pack of pencils and would help my students so much!
Back Up Plan
If we do not raise the money, I will do just as I did last year and buy the supplies with my own paycheck and do what teachers do - get scrappy and make it work.
About the Creator
In less than a month, I will have my own classroom at Colleton County High School in Walterboro, South Carolina! I could not be more excited, as I got to teach summer school this summer in Mississippi and fell in love with teaching and my students. I know I will be able to support and love all of my students just because I love what I am doing, but I’ve also learned a big part of supporting students learning is ensuring that they have everything they need. This is where I will need some additional support! Many students come to school without all of their school supplies, hungry bellies, etc., and I want to make sure my students are equipt with everything they need to reach their highest potential in my class. I will be so grateful for anything anyone can give that can make my classroom a safe, home away from home that students can focus on learning in!
