Keeping Students Safe In Schools #ClearTheList

The Description

With these funds I will be purchasing door stoppers for every classroom in my school. It has been advised that during active shooter situations, a door stopper shoved behind a locked door can make it nearly impossible to enter. In 2018, there were 5 active shooter situations. 4 in high schools and 1 in a middle school. While we need to ensure this #neveragain happens, we need to be prepared for the worst case. All of our children deserve to go to school without fearing for there life.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will purchase as many stoppers as possible.

Door Stoppers Have Been Purchased!

September 29, 2019

The original door stoppers I picked out were not thick enough, seeing that there is a large gap at the bottom of all of the doors in my school. They do not seal closed, so I needed a thicker door stopper. After purchasing a few options to see which would be the best, I found a very sturdy and strong stopper. I’m in the process of returning the ones that didn’t work, and an ordering more of what seems to be the best option.

Total security is always a fought for thing. Before any operation you must know your enemy and their intentions, and always be ready. That's one thing I got from the army. I hope this goes with best interest to the cause to keep schools more secure.

Best of luck to the group on their intentions!
