Technology for Interactive Learning!

The Description

With these funds I will be able to purchase a document camera and Epson wireless LAN module. The document camera will allow me to project images onto a Epson Brightlink projector. With the document camera, I can turn my whiteboard into a giant interactive tablet; engaging kids in their learning. I can easily project images onto a white board where I can, or my students can, manipulate the objects, highlight, and write right onto the whiteboard. This would not only increase student engagement, but also provide bright and vivid visuals for my students.

The Epson wireless LAN module will allow me to wirelessly connect my computer and iPad to this projector. This gives me increased mobility in the classroom. With the capability of using the projector wirelessly, I can move about the classroom in order to ensure that students stay focused and can check in with students in real time and make adjustments to my lesson as needed. I would also be able to connect multiple computers in order to show student work, allowing students to present to the classroom.

Try students are hard workers and passionate about learning new things. They love a new challenge and are focused and engaged when they get to manipulate things with their hands. They love when my lessons have an interactive component them, it truly makes them part of the learning. This cause is important to me and will directly benefit my students because it will instantly make my classroom more engaging, plus I would be able to integrate technology into the classroom in a new and exciting way. Kids need to be able to visually see and attempt the skills I am teaching in class in order for the concept to stick. This technology will help me do just that.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase the Epson Wireless LAN Module with my own money; I really don't want to have to pay out of pocket. Unfortunately, I would not be able to get the document camera, but I would still use the interactive projector with the basic features to increase engagement in the classroom.

Hello, my name is Mrs. Hennessey and I am a 5th grade teacher at Simonds Elementary School. This is my fifth year teaching and I have loved every minute of it. I core teach with another teacher so I have the opportunity to see 64 eager to learn faces each day. My passions in teaching are providing students with the tools, spaces, and skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.
