With these funds I will help pay for tickets to arts events for students who can't afford it. The field trips are mostly free, but recently we went to Texas Ballet Theatre and the tickets were $28 a piece. The students could only donate $10 toward it so I paid the remainder. Our next field trip in October will be to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and they are charging $15 a piece and I suspect I will not get full payment from them for this event either.

The students I take have parents who are unfamiliar with the cultural opportunities of Dallas. Since I have experience as a journalist and PR consultant with the arts scene of Dallas, I like to share it with those who may not know about the varied opportunities there are here!
