With these funds I will pay for the busses to take our 5th graders to the middle school they will be attending next year. We will be renting 2 busses at $175/bus to take the 124 5th graders to visit their new school, Livadais (http://livaudais.jpschools.org/). That is just under $3 per student. The purpose of this tour is to make our students feel more comfortable in the first weeks of school, so they can focus their energy on the academic challenges they face and minimize the social anxiety that usually is a defining factor of starting middle school. This field trip will help our students feel confident at the beginning of 6th grade and be successful from the start of middle school!
