With these funds I will...purchase 1 facemask and helmet (approx. $200), 1 chest protector (approx. $200), and 1 pair of shin guards (approx. $200) for our catchers. We are looking to purchase this equipment from Battaglia's Sporting Goods in Scranton, PA (view here). Our current catchers equipment is old and worn out. It creates a dangerous situation for our catcher because it could create injuries in the midst of play. The current equipment doesn't fit properly for our catchers and creates the threat of serious injury.

As the head baseball coach, my number one priority is the safety of all my players. This new equipment will allow my catchers to perform at their highest level. They will no longer worry about the threat of serious injuries due to the old, raggedy equipment. Instead, they will focus on playing and having fun.

Three years ago, we started at the D level in the Philadelphia School District. Last year, we moved to the C Division and were Champions. This year, we are in the B Division (very competitive division) in the District. Due to our recent success, more students want to be involved in our growing baseball program and are playing more summer legion baseball. We want to provide the best opportunities for our players so we can continue to see success and growth within our program.
