The Description

With these funds I will purchase 3 Chromebooks for my students. With these Chromebooks my students will be able to gain the skills that they need to keep up with our 21st century world. Education is changing as well as the way students learn in today's world. The area of technology is changing each day and students need support to be able to keep up with the changing technology trends. Many of my students have little to no experience with computers and laptops at home. Their schema in the area of technology is limited to video game consoles and their parents' smart phones. These Chromebooks will help me to teach my students lessons in many areas of technology from word processing to coding! Through focused lessons within our STEAM time as well as throughout the day in all curriculum areas, my students will be able to access and utilize the countless sites my district has provided including Google Classroom where the possibilities for learning are endless! This will give my students the confidence they need to not only live in a digital world but hopefully to go on to obtain careers in the area of technology when they are adults.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will purchase only 1 or 2 Chromebooks. If there are not enough funds to purchase one Chromebook, I will use the money to purchase school supplies for my students. We are always in need of pencils, dry/erase markers, paper, notebooks, glue, and construction paper.

About the Creator

Hello! My name is Gina Minder-Maldonado and I am your child's 2nd grade teacher. I love teaching! This is my 19th year at Oakley Elementary School. I started my teaching career years ago at the age of 15 when I began working in preschools, after school programs, and summer camps. Prior to Oakley, I taught in Danville as a private kindergarten teacher. I have also taught first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and adults! Teaching in the primary grades is my favorite! I received my Multiple Subject teaching Credential from California State University, Hayward and my Master's Degree from St. Mary's College, Moraga. I am a lifelong learner and I continually attend conferences and seminars to find out the newest innovations in the teaching profession.
