This summer I have been looking at using a more flexible seating approach in my classroom.  I have been asked to teach 4th and 5th grade writing this year which will be a change for me.  With flexible seating, I am going to be teaching not only writing, but teaching my students how to take responsibility for their learning by making good choices in where they learn best. By giving them some power, I am hoping to get some powerful writing back from them.  To get this started, I would like to purchase 2 floor chairs for $50.00 a piece.  Also, I would like to purchase a mobile teaching easel which costs $350.00. I have found these items online at Lakeshore Learning. www.lakeshorelearning.com  With the rest of the funds, I will be purchasing Post-It notes and colored paper to be used for our writing notebook lessons. I would probably purchase this at a local Office Depot or on Amazon.
