These funds will provide the necessary basic supplies that these students don't have access to on a daily basis.  These supplies include headphones, glue sticks, crayons, notebooks, and dry erase markers. The things that a lot of people take for-granted are the things my students don't have access to.  Our school is in a high poverty area. These students work hard everyday trying to strive to do their best allowing them to achieve their goals and dreams. 

With these funds I will buy the following items:

Headphones (pack of 8 for $74.99) for my students to use the computers and iPads. The headphones will allow the students to be able to listen to a story or letter sounds on both the computer and the iPads. Now my students do not have headphones so they are unable to use the iPads during guided reading because it is distracting to other students.

Crayons (12 packs of 12 crayons...will need 3 sets) for my students to use in the classroom. My students provide pictures with their writing and without crayons they can not color their final piece.

Composition (set of 10...will need 3 sets) books will give my students their own personal journal to practice their writing skills during writers workshop. The space at the top of the page will allow them to show a picture that goes with their drawing.

Glue Sticks (30 pack for $13.20) is something we use everyday in the classroom. We practice making words, sentences, and other activities that require use to use glue sticks.

Dry Erase (set of 8 for $8.99...will need 3 sets) marker is something we use for every lesson, everyday. We use dry erase markers on our white boards to show what we know. These are extremely important in our classroom. These boards allow me to see what students are still struggling with so I can help them individually.
