With these funds I will be purchasing an Osmo Wonder Kit to use with our one iPad in the classrom. Osmo Wonders is an interactive game that attached to the iPad and makes learning hands on for students, specifically the Osmo helps students learn how to code. Research has shown that coding is incredibly important for students to learn and is the wave of the future. Your donation will help students get hands on STEM experiences and possibly effect the trajectory of their future careers.

My students are from low income households, 100% of them live below the poverty line. Most of my students will not statistically finish high school and I hope to change that. I want my students to see that learning truly is fun and STEM related fields are not out of reach. My students deserve the same opportunities as students in the Silicon Valley or Long Island. Help make our dream a reality!

About the Creator

I am a second year 1st grade teacher at a Title 1 school where 100% of the students live under the poverty line. My students come from at risk homes to school where I try to create a classroom environment that is loving, stable and full of life. Yet, schools are funded by taxes, the poorer the community, the less money for the school. Many of my students do not have access to books and other necessary materials to make learning possible.

I love my job and want to make sure my children leave my classroom not only academically ready for second grade, but also feeling cared for and like they belong.
