The Description
We are lucky enough at KIPP Elementary in Helena, Arkansas to have recieved a grant allowing our fourth grade KIPPsters to each recieve a chromebook. Our kids are on the chromebooks every day, practicing phonics and math on different programs, taking reading quizzes that test their reading comprehension, and exploring fun science websites. However, a growing trend that the 4th grade teachers have noticed is that our kids are very slow typers. We are halfway toward helping the 4th graders actively join the global world, and in order to push them further, we want to purchase a fun typing program. It is called TypeAgent, and has won many awards for being a stimulating and informative typing program. Kids will access it three times a week for 30 minutes each time, and practice their typing skills. Not only will this prepare them for the newly computer-proctored state test, but it will prepare them for life in the digital age. Please help us!
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will purchase practice keyboards and typing instruction books so that I can administer the typing lessons to kids myself.
