With these funds I will purchase a video camera for the students to record the activities that they participate in on a regular basis.  Students in my class do everything from create robotics models to dissecting sheep brains.  They build rockets, make hot air balloons and kites, and make insulated walls for architecture.  There are numerous activities in which the students would benefit from making videos that can be then edited into files for them to add into their engineering portfolio.

The camera would allow students to video the activities that they are working on, using that footage to create projects from commercials, movies, etc.  It also has the ability to provide single still shots so that students can incorporate pictures into the documents that they turn in.  With the PLTW (project lead the way) curriculum, students are expected to incorporate images into their documents.  This would be a simple way to get the information needed, upload to our computers, and have students turn in.
