Seating for Success

The Description

With these funds I will purchase a new classroom rug and seat sacks for my students.  We begin each day with a morning meeting and gather together on the floor.  We listen to read alouds, plan for our "Writers Workshop," and build relationships with one another.  A new rug would allow each child to have an assigned area to call their own.  We are working on being respectful, responsible, role models and this would give us an area to take pride in!  When the students return to their seats, they could organize their papers, pencils, etc. in their new seat sacks.  Having seat sacks would teach them to be organized and free up their work area to allow them more space to "show what they know."  My students love learning as much as I LOVE teaching them!  Our day is filled with hands-on activities and lots of individual and small group opportunities!  They are hard workers and give their best each day.  Please consider donating to our classroom and our little school by the sea.  Thank you for considering us!

Here is the rug we would love to call "ours."  It is and 7'6" X 12 and has a spot for each of the 23 smiling faces in our room!  Take a look...the rug costs $279 with FREE shipping!

Below you will find a picture of the seat sacks.  They are too cute and cost less than $10.00 per child!  My plan would be to order a class set of 24 for a total of $205.92 ... it also qualifies for FREE shipping!

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase the classroom rug first since this is the biggest need.  With the remaining funds, I would purchase as many of the seat sacks as possible and most likely supplement the rest with personal funds so each child would have an equal opportunity.
