Building The Foundation: Startup Classroom Supplies

The Description

I am excited to be joining the DFW TFA family to join the movement towards solving educational inequity in this country. I’m an incoming 5th grade bilingual/dual language science and math teacher.

To get my classroom ready for my students, I will use the funds that I raise to get the essential supplies I need to welcome students to a classroom full of materials that they will need. I also want to make sure to provide a safe, welcoming environment that is designed for ALL students and their learning abilities. This will allow me to provide the required supplies my students and I will need for high-quality learning.

I understand the important role I serve to my students as someone who consistently relied on teachers for support regarding school especially as a first-generation high school graduate, first-generation college graduate, and first generation American. I’m excited to join the teaching community to serve students and help ALL unleash their potential.

Thank you so much in advance for supporting me and my students at the beginning of this exciting journey!

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal, I will purchase as many materials as possible. I will prioritize the materials that are most essential to students (pencils, paper, etc.) as they are the most important to ensuring that students can participate in daily lessons.

About the Creator

I’m excited to be part of the Teach for America family and join the movement towards educational equity. After studying Public Policy at USC, I will be returning to my hometown in Dallas to serve students in a high need public school. This summer I have been participating in an intensive national institute training which consists of community building, professional development, and instructional activities. I’m grateful to be part of TFA, especially after having some TFA teachers impact my life throughout my educational journey!
