The Description

With these funds the current Kipp Sol Academy 8th grade Advocates, will visit the Museum of Tolerance as a conclusion to our unit on the Holocaust. Throughout this unit we will read "Parallel Journeys" and study the cause, effects and legacy of the Holocaust. The visit to the museum will work as an authentic assessment, or meaningful learning experience for students. During the visit students will take notes and collect artifacts. After, students will create a portfolio to reflect on what they have learned. Students have worked hard all year and deserve this amazing and memorable learning experience! (The video above is of our current 8th graders as 5th graders.)

If we do not reach our goal the funds raised will go towards planning another meaningful learning experience for students.

We have received $650 in cash donations from students, families and friends! Which brings our total amount raised to $1,415! We only need $390!!!

I am an 8th grade U.S. History teacher at Kipp Sol Academy in East Los Angeles, CA. I am fundraising money for my students to go to the Museum of Tolerance (on April 24, 2019) as an authentic assessment to our unit on the Holocaust.
