YES Prep Public Schools (YES Prep) is an open-enrollment, public charter school system that currently operates 11 schools and serves more than 6,700 students in an integrated 6th-12th grade program. Reading Enrichment Coordinator
I am in my 28th year of working with middle school students. I have dedicated myself to working with underserved, "at risk" students. For the last 12 years I have served with the Breakthrough Collaborative, an intensive summer school enrichment program for these students. I am presently employed by YES (Youth Engaged in Service) Prep Academy, an organization commited to highly motivated, low socioeconomic students throughout the greater Houston metropolitan area. From involving these students in activities outside their comfort zone, such as the MS 150, chess club, and mock trial it is my passion to level the playing field by exposing them to as many and varied interest as possible.
