About

Everyone is welcome in the College Hills Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). There are no dues in our PTO; instead, we ask that you stay informed and help in any way that is appropriate for your family. Opportunities to support College Hills occur year-round, and you can do it from home, with kids in tow, during lunch hours, or by adding something to your next grocery order. As the oldest school in College Station ISD, College Hills Elementary has been a proud community member for over 60 years, nestled in the heart of College Station just east of Texas A&M University. Our school comprises about 650 students and 100 faculty, staff, and service employees. As a Title I School, every penny counts to help fund field trips, provide resources that help inspire learning and teaching, and help with additional enhancements for our students.Did you know all our students get to go on field trips, have authors visit and share their work, and experience other fabulous memories for free?! It would not be possible without tremendous effort! Below are a few ways College Hills PTO fundraises for these experiences: book fair, spirit nights, fall and spring community events.

We are delighted to introduce Koda, our new therapy dog, who will be joining the College Hills Elementary family this school year. Koda was donated to the College Hills family in order to help support the growth of our students. This will be the first therapy dog in the Bryan/College Station Public School Systems. Koda will be a specially trained therapy dog who will be working alongside our staff to provide additional emotional and social support to our students. The presence of a therapy dog has been shown to have numerous benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, improving mood, and enhancing social interactions. Here are some key details about the program: About Koda Breed: Sheepadoodle (F1B- Does not shed) Age: 6 months old Training: Koda will undergo extensive training to become a certified therapy dog. Social Skills: Interactions with Koda can help students develop empathy, compassion, and better social skills. Reading Assistance: Koda will be part of our reading program where students can read aloud to him, helping to build their confidence and reading abilities. General Well-being: Having Koda around is expected to create a positive and happy environment in our school. Implementation Visits: Koda will be visiting classrooms and participating in special events regularly. Supervision: He will always be accompanied by a trained handler to ensure the safety and well-being of both Koda and the students.
