With these funds we will be able to purchase wrestling shoes, headgear, and other team related items for Thomas Jefferson High School wrestlers that are without the funds to purchase their own equipment.  Our team currently consists of 36 wrestlers, many of whom are new to the sport of wrestling with the majority of them receiving free/reduced lunches.  This makes it difficult for the families to purchase the necessary equipment for athletics.  

District funds do not keep up with the demand for wrestling gear.  On a yearly average we receive enough funds for mat tape and mat cleaner.  Every 4th year we receive additional funds for new varsity singlets and warm up jackets (14 new) while the older gear gets handed down to the junior varsity.

Thomas Jefferson Wrestling has won the Denver Prep League title six out of the past eight years, and we have the goal of winning the league again this year.  We have qualified wrestlers to the Colorado State Wrestling Tournament in nine of the past ten seasons with seven of those wrestlers placing at the state tournament.  

Every donation will be used to help under privileged student athletes pursue their dreams in the sport of wrestling.
