$300 goal
The Description
With these funds, my scholars will be able to tour San Diego State University and begin to think about their future goals are college graduates. Many of them will be first in their family to attend and graduate from university. My vision is for them to see themselves in a higher education setting so that they are able to see why their daily learning matters. As future community leaders, my scholars are challenged to think about the problems they would like to solve in society. They know education is freedom to create the world they want to be part of.
The money will be directly applied to transportation and activities at SDSU.
Transportation for our class is $1.50 per student and chaperone. Our class has 28 scholars and we would need 6 chaperones to accompany us (including myself and our Instructional Aide). The total for 36 people to take the trolley to SDSU is $51.
While at SDSU, we will be taking a 1.5 tour of the campus. The tour will be free, and our class will also have the opportunity to tour the new Aztec Student Union. While at the Student Union, all 28 scholars will have one hour of bowling. The services have quoted us at $190.50 for using the facilities and providing shoe rentals for all 28 scholars.
All other funds will go to the platform fees of PledgeCents.
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will help fund my project by donating the cost of food, which is approximately $100.
