Our music class is always rigorous, yet fun! We start each class with an energizing Intro, which gets our brains making connections between last class and catapults us into today's new lesson. As we learn new and exciting things, we are anxious to apply what we are learning through technology!! With these funds we will have access to the cloud based version of Musition music theory training and testing software by Sibelius!

Our boys have already taken to exploring multicultural music, reading and writing music, and are in the intro stages of musical instrumentation. Later this year they will also become exposed to music history and technology. If our gift is fully funded, our boys will be able to acquire skills and foster a sense of accountability that the contribution they are making to their school culture is a positive and important one. This supports not only their drive towards curiosity but also aims at targeting students' interests in new and innovative technology. Soon, our boys will be on their way to becoming equal to their counterparts in other, more affluent school districts. Our students already have the disadvantage of being exposed to, and learning, music at a later age. As we prepare students to "climb the mountain to and through college", we know that some of our scholars are just as talented and capable of pursing degrees in the arts, technology, and other creative sciences.

We are planning to be able to expand to all of our middle school grades in the upcoming years. Many of our students are experiencing and learning music for the first time, putting them behind many of their counterparts who have been learning music since 3rd or 4th grade. Our students deserve to have a educationally fun outlet where they can flourish creatively, emotionally, and socially.
