The Description

With these funds we will...

be able to cover the cost of our yearly field trip to the Aloha Theater. Every year we take a field trip to watch a performance done by the Honolulu Theater for Youth. Being Kindergartners, this is their first experience with live theater. The performances that are put on each year are always vibrant, engaging, and enriching. This year's performance is "H20, The Story of Water and Hawai'i."

We work at a Title I school where many of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. And since this is a field trip that the entire school participates in, it is a cost that some families have to pay 2 or 3 times over. Through this cause your investment can help lighten the financial burden and ensure that these students enjoy the cultural experience of a lifetime.

Tickets to see the show are roughly $5.00 a child. We are a large school with currently 7 Kindergarten classes (we usually grow to 8 by the fall) with approximately 20 students per class. These classes include students who are English Language Learners, as well as students with special needs.

Back Up Plan

If we do not meet my goal...

we will evenly divide the funds across the board between the whole grade level. So, if we raise half of the funds we need, then each student will need to pay for half of the cost of the field trip.

Mahalo!

October 14, 2016

Thank you everyone for your generous investments to help our Kindergarteners attend this amazing field trip! because of you the cost of the field trip per student was cut from $5 to $3! That makes a HUGE difference to our families, especially those that have more than on child attending this field trip. My team and I really appreciate everything that you have done for our students and enabling them all to be a part of this wonderful experience. Our field trip will be towards the end of the month. The kids are so excited as this is their first field trip! Thank you again for your generosity and compassion.
