The Description
We are seeking your support for an educational trip for our Advanced Placement African American Studies and My Brother's Keeper/My Sister's Keeper students. This year marks the inaugural offering of the AP African American Studies course at our school, and we are thrilled to include students from the MBSK program on this important journey.
This trip is vital for our students, providing them with essential insights into African American history and culture. It will empower them to deepen their understanding of their identities and the collective struggles and achievements of the community. Engaging with these themes will enhance their academic knowledge and inspire them to take active roles in shaping their futures.
We have organized visits to Howard University, Morgan State University, and the African American History Museum in Washington, D.C.
Back Up Plan
In the event that we do not reach our fundraising goal, we will implement a backup plan to ensure that as many students as possible can still participate in this valuable experience. First, we will limit the number of participants by prioritizing those with the greatest financial need. We will also explore options for partial funding and seek additional support from local businesses and community organizations. If necessary, we may adjust the trip itinerary to reduce costs, such as shortening the duration or focusing on fewer locations.
