The Description

With these funds I will...purchase many different materials in order to ensure that my freshmen are successful in biology. This includes 50 sets of colored pencils, 50 glue sticks, 50 sets of markers, pencils, 30 non-scientific calculators, 15 scissors, 1 package of colored paper, and 1 package of colored card stock for manipulatives from Staples. These materials will be used for everything from labs to organizing their notebook for class. All of the skills covered using these materials sets my students up for success for the remainder of their high school career and beyond. Finally, biology is a tested subject for the state of Texas, and our students need to score above and beyond in order to graduate from high school, so please help our freshmen stay engaged and organized with these materials!

Dear Investors, 

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our biology classroom! Although we did not meet our initial goal, I was able to use the funds you genoursly provided to supply each of my student groups with a tool box for thier desk. These tool boxes are  filled with tools like: glue sticks, scissors, colored pencisl, pencil sharpeners and calculators. The kids love these boxes and we use them each and everyday in class as we work in our interactve biology notebooks.

I studied Animal Science at Texas A&M University, and I am a proud member of the 9th grade team at KIPP Houston High School. I teach Biology to the majority of our freshmen class at KHHS. I am passionate about teaching students about the world around us and how we can use science to further our understanding of delicate ecosystems and every living thing on our planet.
