APs Need PD Too! #Get2ISTE
$141
$1,422 goal
The Description
Assistant principals are usually the educators who are often forgotten in the professional development food chain. Teacher receive the most training or professional development followed by the principal and where do the lowely APs fall????
However, APs need professional development too! I will use the funding to travel to the ISTE 2015 conference. I hope to gain additional information to be a better leader for my staff and to also grow as a professional. Developing leadership and being lead learner in my building is so important to me! Please help me as I strive to be a better leader for my students and school!
The potential funding will assist with:
Registration: $464
Lodging: $708 (cheapest room is $177 per night on the conference website for 4 nights)
Flight: $250 (round trip airline ticket)
Total cost: $1,422
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will still work to increase my professional knowledge and leadership by possibly attending a local conference that may not cost as much as the trip to ISTE 2015. Though local conferences, such as the WRESA summer conference, have a different focus from ISTE 2015, there is still a wealth of knowledge to be gained from attending the event. I would also like to buy additional professional text that will allow me to be a better leader for my students, staff, and school. Those books include text by Todd Whitaker, Stephen Covey, Michael Fullan, and Patrick Lencioni to name a few authors.
