The Description

With these funds I will be able to purchase materials for my Principles of Architecture students to create their interactive wall for the STEAM Carnival.  The students have been working hard at coming up with creative, engaging, interactive walls.  These walls were then incorporated into the interior design of their house project they are currently working on.  Some of the walls include, but are not limited to, a maze wall, a music wall, a thermosensitive wall, and many more!  All of the walls will be constructed and displayed at our 3rd Annual STEAM Carnival on November 30.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will purchase as many materials as possible and the students will have to choose which walls they want to display at the STEAM Carnival.

About the Creator

My name is Katy Philbrick. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master’s in Architecture and a Master’s in Business Administration. After I graduated from college I moved back to San Antonio, got married, and worked at a local architecture firm. After working there for a while I decided teaching is what I wanted to do. It got even better though... not only do I get to teach, I get to teach architecture!!

I graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2001. While I was a student at TR I watched the DATA Building being built and now I have the wonderful privilege of working here. I am very excited to be sharing everything I’ve learned and everything I’m passionate about in architecture! I have been teaching at DATA since 2008 and I am looking forward to another great year! I look forward to working with everyone who is part of the DATA Family.
