Hard Working Kids Need Wrestling Singlets For The Season!

The Description

If we are able to raise the funds, our students will have new wrestling singlets to wear for the upcoming season.  

- There are fourteen weight classes in wrestling so we need to buy 14 singlets, one for each Varsity wrestler.  We only had 8 last year so some athletes would have to share (which can be gross when it gets all sweaty!  Ew).  The ones we had last year have been around for a while and are starting to fray and look shabby.  

- Our students come from an area where the majority of them are low income.  We can't charge much for our program because they can't afford it.  We have to raise all of our funds ourselves.  Contrary to what people think, the school and the state don't give us any funds to run an athletic program.

- This is one of the sites that offers a great price for a singlet, a school sweater (Varsity athletes wear them for warm-ups.  They are property of the program and are not kept by the athlete) and warm up shorts (also worn for warm-ups and weigh ins, but are not kept by the students) for $120.

- Our students work extremely hard in their sport as well as in school.  Students have to maintain a 2.0 to stay in athletics, so athletics is a crucial driving force for their education.

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase as many singlets as I can to keep the team running.
