With these funds I will be able to purchase a document camera to use in my 5th grade classroom. 

I recently attended a conference (Teach Like a Champion 2.0) where I received training in using the Show Call Strategy. This strategy involves showcasing student work during instruction and at the end of a lesson. The purpose of projecting student work in real time is to  increase feedback and accountability, as well as maximize teachable moments so students can positively learn from common mistakes. Projecting student work on a document camera, not only allows for teacher feedback, but it gives students the opportunity to engage with each other and discuss their work. Students will be able to become flexible thinkers when they view that there are multiple ways to arrive at the same answer. They will also learn from their peers. 

I am excited to use this new training in my classroom, but unfortunately I do not have a document camera to implement this strategy. I know my fifth graders would benefit from the increased engagement and that the real-time feedback that a document camera would bring them. With this tool my students work be able to work together to learn from mistakes and celebrate their academic successes. I am sure this technology would equip me with an additional tool to help my students reach their goals. 

I am hoping to purchase a portable model that will allow me to use this tool from anywhere in my classroom.
