Startup Classroom Supplies

The Description

The time has finally come where I put my degree to work! This upcoming school year, I will be afforded the opportunity to be a Kindergarten teacher. With that being said, Kindergarten is a crucial year where students learn community building skills, interpersonal skills, and the transition from home to school. Kindergarten is also a year for a combination of creative play, exploration, and formal instruction. The school I will be working in is a high needs area school. One of the biggest speed bumps that students in high need schools face is a lack of the necessary materials that are needed daily. It makes it infinitely more difficult for students to take part in activities and classwork when they do not have basic supplies and manipulatives to enhance their learning. I want to ensure all of my students have the supplies readily available as well as a clean classroom environment in order for them to learn, grow, and develop. Every donation I receive will be put towards classroom supplies so anything you can contribute really will make a difference for my first year. I want to make a great impression and a lasting impact on my first group of students and letting them know that they have a community that supports them both near and far will definitely get us on the right track. Below is a preliminary list of the materials that your generous investment will help provide for the students of my very first classroom:

  • Bookshelves
  • Books
  • A large area rug

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal, I will purchase as many materials as possible. I will prioritize the materials that are most essential to students (pencils, paper, erasers, markers, crayons, books, etc.) as they are the most important to ensuring that students can participate in daily lessons.
