The Headphone Fund
Verified Non-Profit
$250
$250 goal
The Description
With these funds I will...
My 4th grade Dartmouth scholars will immediately appreciate the value of operating with headphones in the classroom. These funds will directly impact the classroom structure of Dartmouth and improve productivity.
Laptops are a wonderful way to expand student learning. Laptop computers are becoming progressively customary in education. Computer skills are becoming a fundamental part of education.
Students that learn to type efficiently and use basic computer functions such as word processing, email and web browsing have a significant advantage.
Allowing laptops in the classroom reinforces computer skills and can allow students to have contact with computers without having them take a class geared specifically toward learning computer skills.
On laptops students can explore science themes and learn current events. Students can also practice reading on math using intervention software. Headphones will help students self explore and learn on the computers.
Back Up Plan
If we do not meet our goal, we will reduce the number of headphones for the 4th grade Dartmouth scholars.
About the Creator
I am a founding KEA 4th grade teacher at KIPP Empower and a proud graduate of Dartmouth College, where I studied History & Public Policy.
My primary goal as an educator is to help scholars learn in core educational subjects, such as math, science, reading/vocabulary, social studies and the arts.
It's important for me to establish and enforce behavior expectations, and collaborate with other educators to improve the educational foundation of our youth today.
