Building a Classroom: Start Up Supplies

The Description

Hi friends!

As you may or may not know, I will be working this fall as an elementary school teacher in Dallas, Texas. The community I will be working in has very limited economic resources, and more than 80% of the students at my school are on free or reduced lunches. I created a PledgeCents fundraising page to humbly get some support from my own community to purchase start up supplies for my classroom in the fall. Because of the limited resources previously mentioned, it is likely that I will not receive funding for these materials. My students already face economic hardships in their day to day lives, and I don’t want that struggle to be carried in to the classroom. I want to create a meaningful, enriching, and equitable environment for my students where they are surrounded by materials that foster their academic and personal growth.

These items are small, but essential to their learning. By donating to my PledgeCents page, I will be able to ensure my students have all the basic materials for the classroom! No donation is too small and every donation is appreciated!

Donations go a long way!

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal, I will purchase as many materials as possible. I will prioritize the materials that are most essential to students (pencils, paper, etc.) as they are the most important to ensuring that students can participate in daily lessons.
