College T-Shirts
Verified Non-Profit
$206
$2,850 goal
The Description
With these funds, the 6th grade teachers will be able to provide college t-shirts for all the students in the sixth grade. At KIPP, each cohort is assigned a college or university based on their homeroom teacher. This year, the students are representing Houston Baptist University, Stanford University, Texas Southern University, and University of Houston. Our goal at KIPP Liberation College Preparatory is to develop the college culture at our campus and to support our students as they climb the mountain to and through college.
$25 will provide a t-shirt for one student at KIPP Liberation. If we reach our goal of $2,850, we will be able to provide a t-shirt for all 114 sixth grade students at our campus! We see each and every day the power of our mission because it continually shapes our culture and motivates our kids. Our students believe that they will go "to and through college."
On any given school day, you might see or hear activities including the following:
HBU - Throwin' up their DAWGS! Woof, woof!
Stanford - Rapping the N.E.R.D. song or doing the "Tree dance"
TSU - watching a video of the incredible Texas Southern marching band
University of Houston - chanting "Who's House? COOGS House!"
Back Up Plan
If we don't reach our entire goal we will use the funds to provide college t-shirts to the high achievers in the sixth grade based on academics or on character. Students will be able to show their college pride as they walk the halls of KIPP Liberation College Preparatory.

Thank you so much!
August 8, 2015
Dear Investors,
Thank you so much for you generous donations. With the $206 dollars raised, the 6th grade was able to award one homeroom with college lanyards. (~$8/lanyard)
They continue to wear their Stanford lanyards loud and proud, and I hope in times of light and darkness, these lanyards will remind them of their goal..."to and through college"!
Sincerely,
Ms. Sieng
