With these funds, I will attend the International Society for Technology in Education 2015 Conference in Philadelphia,PA for the week of June 28th - July 1st. I am seeking sponsorship in the amount of $700. The monies received will be used as follows: $382 will cover the cost of the ISTE Registration fees; $297 will be used to cover room and board fees through Airbnb. The remaining $30 will go towards the cost of my plane ticket to Philadelphia.

As an Instructional Technology Specialist in a Title1 School, I challenge teachers to integrate technology using the latest strategies and skills that I have learned through networking and professional development.

In order to keep up with the current trends in technology, I am constantly learning and building my skills. I attend trainings, conferences and workshops to help develop my professional learning capabilities. It is necessary to expand my growth and knowledge in order to support teachers as they incorporate technology into their best teaching practices.

After attending the Texas Computer Education Association this year, I gained a wealth of knowledge. This enabled me to return to my campus and expose teachers to Kahoot, Plickers, and Tackk for EDU. Once teachers implemented the programs, several teachers experienced success in student engagement and progress.

Our campus participated in an online Google Plus Community for the first time this year. Through our campus collaboration in our Google Plus Community, all staff members are able to view and share how technology is being used in their classrooms. This collaboration has resulted in an increase of teachers who are inspired and eager to learn strategies to engage their students while expanding their technology skills. As well as the technology skills of their students. Their desire to learn is what motivates me to gain more professional development experiences so that I can fully support the needs of my campus.

It is necessary for me to attend ISTE to expand my professional learning community, develop my skill set, and to collaborate with other educators. Specifically, I want to find ways to help my teachers integrate mobile devices such as iPads and Chromebooks into their instruction and discover more ways for students to use the mobile devices as a means of assistance, creation, and collaboration.
