By investing in a kiln (see examples here) for KIPP Austin Brave High School students, you will support the development of skills foundational to the study of architecture, interior design, landscape design, urban planning, product design, science (e.g. 3D rendering of cellular forms and anatomical studies), and engineering, just to name a few. If you donate today, you will drive the innovation of tomorrow by developing professionals and leaders with a unique eye for design and creative problem solving.

The kiln will be used in a full ceramics course at KIPP Austin Brave High School, where students will learn the elements of art in the 3^rd dimension. KIPP Austin Brave students will learn to take a two-dimensional sketch or idea and bring it to life in the third dimension. While some pieces will be for practical use such as bowls, plates, vases, and jewelry, other ceramic creations will require a highly kinesthetic involvement promoting the exploration and understanding of space and form. The kiln is an essential part of the completion process when working with clay and because of its multiple firing process will allow students the opportunity to practice following specific procedures and further cultivate organizational skills.
