The Description
My students are little first graders that are enthusiastic and excited to learn. In many subjects, especially Science and Social Studies, we don't have a set of textbooks. My classroom lacks a class set of many of our supplies needed in our curriculum. A document camera will allow all students to clearly view the provided text even when there is not enough copies for everyone. The document camera will also help in math when trying to show how to use manipulatives the students can watch me as if I was explain in front of them on their own desk. This document camera can help change the structure and dynamics of the classroom.
With these funds I will purchase a document camera ($100) to project images of the books and graphic organizers we are using. This way students can read or work along with me as I explain how to complete activities. http://www.amazon.com/Ziggi-HD-High-Definition-Document-Camera-CDVU-04IP/dp/B008DBF5Z8

About the Creator
I have an amazing group of students. They come from all walks of life and make up a very diverse classroom. I teach a self-contained first grade class with English as a Second Language and Special Education children. They are enthusiastic and eager to learn, but suffer from our lack of materials. Many of the children come to school without the necessary school supplies to have a successful year.
Young students need a strong start in school starting in Kindergarten with the appropriate supplies they can have that jump start to be successful in school the rest of their lives. In city public schools teachers are often buying classroom necessities such as paper towel, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer. This leaves little in the teachers’ budget to buy other essentials such as folders, notebooks, and pencils. Please help me give each student starting school in my classroom the same opportunity to excel in school.
