With these funds I will invest in a Power of Science2 Exploration Center which can be found here. With Power of Science2 modules unique activities and quality components, I will spark students' curiosity and create enthusiasm for science!

This exporation center is very important to my students in reaching their big goals in 6th Grade Science. The work we do at KIPP Courage is in a Title I, low-socioeconomic, 98% hispanic minority school. Most students have never had the opportunity to use real hands on science tools outside of virtual components. I want my students to have the same opportunities as their high socioeconomic counterparts so they are better equipped in their climb to and through college.

The Power of Science2 modules in promote both a hands-on and a minds-on inquiry approach to scientific learning and complement all science curriculums through ready-to-use Student Experiments, Teacher Demonstrations, and Going Further extension activities. The Power of Science2 kits include Human Body, Astronomy, Rocks & Minerals, Weather, Simple Machines, Electricity, Light & Sound, and Matter & Energy. These modules and kits  are directly aligned to our scope and sequence which can be found here on our long term plan and calendar.
