The Description

With these funds I will...purchase the rest of the athlete's air fare and hotel stay for the week of the Junior Olympics. The Junior Olympics is in Iowa this year. We have enough funds for some of the athletes but not all. The Check in date are from July 27-August 3.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will purchase...what I can with the money that is raised. I plan to have some quick fundraisers too. We had teachers sponsor a run a thon during the school year.

I just cannot thank everyone enough for supporting my son and the Belmont Tigers AAU team! To the anonymous donor who donated $1,923 so that the goal was met.....my son and I cannot thank you enough for this act of generosity and kindness!! I had to fight back the tears when I saw this donation this morning! Many people say there are ANGELS everywhere and you are definitely one! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! This is a great opportunity for our kids! No matter the outcome, I am so happy that they will get to experience this level of competition. I am so glad that they are having this experience with my son, who is very passionate about track! Thanks again everyone, the SUPPORT means so much!

About the Creator

I am a track coach at Belmont Charter School which is a Title 1 school. I started running track in middle school and decided to join the AAU too. I placed 5th in the nation at the Junior Olympics while in middle school. My events were the 100m, 200m, and the 400m. I continued running in high school. In 9th grade, my relay team won the Catholic League Championship. During indoor track, I received many awards. In my junior year of high school, I won first place in the 200m, 400m, and the 4X400 at the PCL Indoor Championship . I was awarded the Athlete of the Meet. I ran some in college. Unfortuately, I have been plagued with many injuries. I have decided to pass on my knowledge of track and field to young people. It gives me great pleasure to see my athletes grow as time goes on! Now I am coaching a small AAU team for the summer. This picture is of the athletes who qualified for the Junior Olympics.
