$200 goal
The Description
With these funds I will buy a set a 8 chairs for my students to have furniture that are not broken and wobbly. My little first graders are easily distracted and frustrated. Right now they are sitting in chairs that are missing a piece of the leg so it wobbles or the plastic is broken and it pinches them or pulls their clothes. All these factors distract my students from the learning they are there to do. My school is high poverty inner city school and my students deserve the best.
The chairs I would buy are from http://www.schoolfurniture4less.com

Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will purchase less than 8 chairs from the same website.

Exciting New Stuff
October 8, 2015
Thank you for the donations. With this money I have ordered chairs for my students for the guided reading table I am going to buy. I found chairs at IKEA that are much cheaper which allows me to buy more chairs and now also $100 worth of books for my classroom. The chairs should arrive shortly! I am so excited for this addition to my classroom. When it arrives I will post pictures of the chairs in my classroom.
About the Creator
I have an amazing group of students. They come from all walks of life and make up a very diverse classroom. I teach a self-contained first grade class with English as a Second Language and Special Education children. They are enthusiastic and eager to learn, but suffer from our lack of materials. Many of the children come to school without the necessary school supplies to have a successful year.
Young students need a strong start in school starting in Kindergarten with the appropriate supplies they can have that jump start to be successful in school the rest of their lives. In city public schools teachers are often buying classroom necessities such as paper towel, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer. This leaves little in the teachers’ budget to buy other essentials such as folders, notebooks, and pencils. Please help me give each student starting school in my classroom the same opportunity to excel in school.
