The Description
As one of the district-wide college and career readiness initiatives, I would like funds to purchase college and university flags and pendants to display in the hallways (flags) and on the outside door (flags) of each teacher/staff members’ room location. In an effort to create a college and career climate, it is necessary to expose students and have conversations with them about the many college choices that are available in the state of Texas and beyond. The college and university flags and pendants can be purchased on the individual institution's website. The pendants range from $3.99 to $7.99 and the flags range from $24.99 to $39.99, depending on the institution. These supplies can be purchased also on the Discount Decorative Flags website, http://www.discountdecorativeflags.com/house-flags.
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal I will purchase as many college pendants and flags for each campus so that our students are exposed to the different colleges and universities represented by our staff and teachers.
About the Creator
I am the College and Career Readiness Director at Southwest Schools in Houston, Texas. This is not only a new position for me, but also a new and exciting opportunity for the school district.
My ultimate goal is to motivate all students and staff to collaborate, engage and explore college and career readiness opportunities at all grade levels. Within this goal, it is important that we, Southwest Schools, understand that best practices and best efforts will lead all students to greatness beyond their high school years.
