As summer comes to a close and we embark on the school year I am switching into teacher mode. It’s time to prepare for my very first year in the classroom. Though I am unsure of what the school year may bring, I’ve found it necessary to establish a clear vision for both me and my students.

As a teacher, I want:

1. To foster a positive learning environment that celebrates ALL students’ growth and development in the classroom.

2. To cultivate a love of learning + literacy in each and every student that walks into my classroom.

My goal is to enhance both the personal growth of my students and their school experiences by providing a safe and stable classroom stocked with the material needed for full student participation. Unfortunately, neither the students nor the school itself can afford to provide the majority of the essential supplies needed on a daily basis such as pencils, pens, notebooks/composition books, etc. A critical part of my job is to develop phenomenal people, but that requires having the appropriate supplies accessible to all students.

In order to make my vision a reality, I plan to use the funds raised through this effort to purchase supplies needed to support my students throughout the entirety of the school year. This will allow me to provide the materials that my students may otherwise not have access to.
