With these funds I will purchase a social studies resource for my classroom to use. I have used this resource, Studies Weekly, in my previous school district and found students were very successful with understanding the presented material and retained information from year to year.

The curriculum is covered in a way that is interesting and entertaining to students. There is a story line that is followed for two students who travel through time to different periods throughout American history. In addition, examples of technology invention, character traits, and timelines are added to give students a deeper understanding of topics such as Westward Expansion, the Civil War, and the structure of our federal government.

In addition, this year Studies Weekly includes important information regarding the democratic election process! Students will have the opportunity to vote in a mock election on November 1st.

These items cost about $6 per student copy, with a purchase of 25 in the event of more students moving into our classroom.
